Merit print and Judges Choice!

I was so excited to enter print competition this year at our regional conference which includes SD, ND and MN. I was even more thrilled when I achieved a merit on my print, which is done by receiving so many points. There were 5 judges from all over the country and it was a tedious process which took most of the day. I watched it all and it was very interesting. I think this is a great way to let your photography be critiqued which in turn makes you a better photographer. I also entered other prints which did not all merit but learned so much! Now my print will go onto National competition, hope it does well! Once the images are all judged, each judge picks his/her favorite out of 300 prints. And one of the judges picked mine, WOW! I was so humbled and thrilled. Below is the image I submitted, I know many of you have seen it on Facebook with the captions.
